Overlap was opened on November 14, 2006 and was my first fanlisting. Initially, I had applied for the fanlisting first but then decided to create a large tribute to Tobi as I could not find one shrine on him. I found this surprising since the group of Akatsuki has such a huge following. I have to admit, I'm not a huge fan of Akatsuki as a group as many others are, but I am a fan of Tobi as an individual. As soon as I saw the fanlisting was gone, I searched everywhere to see if it was up and running in a corner of the web. Obviously I couldn't find it, so I immediatly applied for it.

What makes Tobi so appealing? Honestly I think its because he's unlike the other members of Akatsuki and doesn't hide it, which is how I go by things. He's the comic relief of the group and reminds me a lot of two other favorite characters, Uzumaki Naruto and Uchiha Obito. While the other members of Akatsuki come accross as very serious, dedicted and provide little comic relief Tobi is the comic relief with Deidra - his bumbling actions, carefree, and goofy personality - they can make anyone laugh and it lightens the mood no matter what situation. However, there's a mysterious aura hanging over him, and surprisingly he's more than what he first comes across as. Although I can't say much more since he hasn't taken much part in the series, hopefully that will change!

The name of the site, Overlap, comes from recent events in chapter 364 where Tobi has revealed himself as the true leader of Akatsuki and reveals that he too posesses the Sharingan's power. His personality overlaps the one we were introduced too so I thought it fit well for the current situation.
